This is my big F U going the RTA for there shitty service, and there too many security guards scaring you into showing them your rapid fare ticket:
I caught the train earlier today and headed downtown to grab something quick to eat for lunch inside Tower City, and had to stand amongst about 30 confused passengers who obviously dont know how to swipe a ticket into a ticket stall.
There were a gang of security guards from there all the way to the stop I was boarding the train. When I went downstairs to wait for the train (West Blvd Station) There were about 8 guards coming up to 1 or 2 people asking for a ticket. Why the fuck do you need 8 guys in bullet proof vests and carrying tasers asking you if you have a fucking ticket???!!! Im sorry, but if there are more than 2 people approaching a person and are wearing combat gear. They are considered a gang!! I showed my ticket, but felt a lil' threated, and kinda pissed.....
But Like I said earlier.. I made it to Tower City, and people where confused, and a dozen of guards there where shouting at people on how to place there tickets into the machines. Even snatching tickets from some people as they get pissed on how you mis-do what they said.
I ordered my food and recieved it within say... 5 Minutes and went back to swipe my ticket and the machine wouldnt let me in becuase I came back too soon. I had a RTA official tell me I couldnt do that. I had to wait 25 fucking minutes to swipe just to get thru and board the train. As he was talking, a train was pulling up. So I asked him in a pissed tone: "So, your gonna make me wait 25 minutes to board the train"??!! The dude got kinda scared and open the gate in which I had to run all the way to the train to go back home!
And then when I got off, I ran into a friend who was catching the opposite train, and was asked yet again about my fucking ticket....
FUCK YOU RTA!! YOU INCREASE YOUR FARES, CANT GET PEOPLE WHERE THEY NEED TO GO ON TIME, AND NOW THIS!!! FUCK YOU!!!
OH... AND THIS: THIS IS WHY PEOPLE COMING FROM THE AIRPORT REFUSE TO PAY YOUR FUCKING FARE, AND ACT STUPID IF APPROACHED ON WHETHER THEY PAID OR NOT!!! THEY ALREADY KNOW THAT IF YOU HOP ON A TRAIN FROM ANY STATION, AS LONG AS THEY DONT GET OFF ON TOWER CITY ITS A FREE RIDE BECUASE YOU GUYS DONT WANT TO PAY FOR A BOOTH ATTENDANT!!!!

I can't stand this either. I have a u-pass from CSU but then I end up missing the rapid because of this.

ReplyDeleteOn a good note... I had a couple drinks at a buddies place and past thru a rapid station and was talking to a few RTA Police who where really nice guys. Big ups to those guys but no ups to the hundreds of other dicks that are around. They need to atleast spread out and not mob you.
I saw 3 people get ticketed at one station, and they all mob you (at least 5 guys) just for one guy to get your info to send you your $84 ticket. Very unessasary (sorry...cant spell when tired or had a couple of drinks.)
I am so glad I'm not the only one having these experiences and feeling this way. I got asked four times yesterday to show my monthly pass. Everyone here is right, it feels like we are being persecuted for riding this horrible, pathetic excuse for a public transporation system. I work downtown, take the rapid, and will most likely start driving in the near future. It is actually cheaper and more convenient to park downtown now. I know I"ll be on time, won't be treated like a criminal, and won't have to worry about trains catching on fire OR feeling like I'm living in the book 1984.
